Oil Tree’s Organic Cooking Oil is made from a special “High Oleic” sunflower seed variety. This oil contains 80% Omega-9 (oleic acid).
Why is this important?
Plant oils rich in Omega-9 are the most stable against oxidation and are suitable for high-heat cooking, as their composition does not change under heat. In comparison, oils high in Omega-6 or Omega-3 fatty acids can form undesirable compounds when exposed to high temperatures. High Omega-9 content is also characteristic of olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil, and rapeseed oil.
